Reproduction - LIFESPAN

The mating season begins towards the end of the month of September.
The females give birth to their young 7 ½ months after rutting.
All births take place in a very short period of time: ten or so days, between the end of May and the beginning of June.
Reindeer live for between 12 and 15 years in the wild, but they can live up to 20 years when they are in captivity.
