Habitat

They are found in a huge area that stretches from the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa as far as temperate Asia and North America.
This animal, originally from the grassy steppes, now lives in mixed mountain forests and in open and marshy spaces.
 

DIET

They feed on grass, herbaceous plants, buds and leaves.

Gestation : 8 ½ months
 

LIFESTYLE

The deer is a gregarious, nocturnal species that can also be seen at dusk. The females gather in herds. The males live with them during the mating season. A herd that can reach up to sixty doe may accompany a single male.
