The badger is omnivorous and above all feeds on insects, rodents, tubers, mushrooms, earthworms, amphibians, reptiles and even molluscs.

Breeding is at 2 years old.
The period of reproduction for badgers runs from January to March.
Each litter can be from 2 to 7 young.
Lifespan : 15 years.
Badger burrows are often at the foot of a hillock, cliff or bank.
Ponds or streams are often found near their dwellings, as well as felled trees, a source of play and food.
They also appreciate the proximity of trees and berry-bearing bushes, such as elderberry that they feast on when in season.
