Lama pacos

They belong to the artiodactyla order.

The alpaca descends from the vicuna and was domesticated by man to produce an abundance of fine, soft, warm fibres.


DIET

The alpaca feeds mostly on grass and hay.
They consume on average 1.5 to 2 kg of food per day, reaching up to 3 kg for pregnant females.

repRODUCTION - LIFESPAN

The female alpaca carries her young for 11 months producing only one young per year.
An alpaca lives between 15 and 20 years.
