DIET

Przewalski’s horse is herbivorous. It mainly feeds on grasses and other herbaceous plants.

HABITAT - LIFESTYLE

 
Przewalski’s horse live in family groups of 5 to 10 individuals in the Mongolian Steppes, between 700 and 1,800 metres altitude.

Following reintroduction programmes, several thousand now live in Mongolia and northern China.

The name Przewalski, comes from Colonel Nikolai Przhevalsky, a Russian explorer who discovered it for the first time in the Gobi desert in 1879.
