diet

The tawny owl feeds on small mammals like fieldmice, shrews, mice and voles, as well as hunting hedgehogs, frogs, worms and insects.
 

Reproduction - lifespan

It nests in a hole in a tree, wall or a rock.
Between March and April the female lays from 2 to 4 white, round eggs at the bottom of the nest. The chicks are born after brooding for 28 to 30 days.
The tawny owl can live for up to eighteen years.
