Anas gracilis

This is a small dabbling duck with light brown plumage.
Living in Australia, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand, this teal often nests in tree cavities or in depressions in the ground.
It is a rather gregarious species.
It seeks out its food paddling in shallow water, collecting small plant debris, seeds and small invertebrates sometimes.
It also feeds on the ground where it captures insects on the vegetation.
